Pellegrini and his lack of trust in our youngsters.
I'm losing face and a bit of interest in Pellegrini. Especially his lack of promoting our younger players.
The recent Carabao cup defeat only involved Nathan Holland for 57 minutes.
Pellegrini has had plenty of opportunties to introduce some of the promising youngsters but has failed to do so. Now again like previuos managers he probably found himself in a position where he will not "risk" playing them as he has to much to lose. We're on a very poor run .A win and a good performance against Newcastle has to be achieved..
I know Snodgrtass put in a good performance against Sheffielld Utd but he's not the answer at 32. We look slow and have to many over 30's in our team. I wouldn't be suprised if we have the oldest playing team in the PL.
Roberto,Ogbonna,Cresswell,Zabaletta,Noble,Snodgrass. None of them are putting in performances that win games. RIce is streets ahead of him and he was in the team before Pellegrini came along.
We need some youthful energy. I'm slightly jeaulous of Chelsea,Arsenal,Man Utd even Leicester bringing on the youngsters. We're supposed to be the "Academy of Football" FFS.

No game changers on the bench then suggests a load of untried kids.

I get the first bit but not the second, the reason the manager has no game changers at his disposal is due to the board.

SACK THE BOARD

Talking about Diangana, the video this

is very reminiscent of the kind of play Haller was getting on the end of for Eintracht

I agree with many posts that want Pelegrini to play youngsters if the seniors are performing below par I would say some of our big boys are performing like shit, to change things when this is the case is common sense if he indeed has any, well today he definitely woke up a bit.

Martin is not young by a long chalk but I bet he felt 16 years old at that final whistle, Congrats to the whole Martin clan they will have a great night for sure..

OLD C WING

I thought the same about Hegyi. He just looked good, strong hands and made things look comfortable. Anang,is a good shot stopper but flaps a lot and doesn't appear that strong....remind you of someone...

True, I begging Pellegrini to play some youngsters last season, that's why I put this post up.
When is right time, when the team is flying ? Then people will say it's easy for them.
Holland is doing what we want Anderson,is capable off,to do.
Holland should be in before some youth hack literally hacks his legs off.
Pellegrini is falling into that trap of just playing the same players with the same results. Everyone knows that a bit of enthusiastic youth is inspirational.

We need a couple of them in.

I remember under John Lyall when he introduced the likes of Bobby Barnes,Tony Cottee and Alan Dickens. We went on a great run and the crowd really got behind the players and team.

>>> The problem with introducing youngsters into struggling, unfit, unmotivated and tactically bankrupt is that they end up playing with no confidence and getting crucified by everyone.

Or they are an improvement and flourish. Glen Johnson came into the side during a relegation season. Some will fail, some will succeed.

That's why it was such a missed opportunity not to do it when we were safe last season. From Feb onwards it should have been steady introduction of youth. It was not. Pathetic given this club's history. Had that occurred, we might not be so lacking in options now.

>>> Take Diangana. Everyone on here was saying Championship is probably his level because he isn't that good.

Not everyone. They were flat wrong. Most fans are lazy and just go along with the status quo. Properly using youth development takes vision and patience - more importantly from coaches and clubs, but also from fans. The support are way too quick to dismiss a player.

Just having a player breaking through in the team seems to raise fans spirits somewhat.

Agree plus it must give other youngsters hope that they have a chance of breaking through too if they keep playing well enough.

I would bring Diangana back from loan purely because one of the main problems we have in our midfield is lack of pace and he has that.

Take Diangana. Everyone on here was saying Championship is probably his level because he isn't that good. Plays superbly for West Brom and now everyone wants him back. Guess what if he played in this shitshow for this clueless manager he would be back to useless again.

We need a new management team, now. Not when we are in the relegation zone after defeats against Chelsea, Wolves and Arsenal

Surprised Holland has not been given a chance even as a sign to the likes of Anderson and co to buck their ideas up.

Highlights are here if anyone is interested. We scored 3, hit the bar and post.

You can see why Holland is likened so much to Giggs, no defender wanted to touch him for our first.

The Keeper who played last night, Hegyi, looks a far better prospect than Anang to me.

Yeah you're right. If they had won with scoring 4 goals on a couple of occaisions you could say it isn't consistant. But they have scored 4 goals 6 games on the trott and last night scored 3 against Brighton from the league above.

The team last night was

Hegyi
Rosa
Cardaso
Reid
Johnson

Lewis
Coventry
Powell

Holland
Scully
Kemp

Holland,Lewis,Scully the scorers.

That's a good line up.

Reid should play on Saturday he completed 90 mins.
Holland,Johnson,Coventry are better than what we had in the squad for the last 8 games. All SHOULD START.

The defence and centre midfield needs to be strengthened for the attack to function properly, we also need another striker especially if Dyche takes over as he plays with 2 upfront

We need someone with the balls to give some chances to that front 6 in the first team squad.

This lot would have fared much better against oxford than the shit we put out.

I notice Reid has now played two games in 5 days. Again, get him in.

Re: Pellegrini and his lack of trust in our youngsters.
Alf
you're right about last year and the team being all over the place.
This year the front 6 have a settled lot. Even without Silva.
From what I have seen and I grant you mainly from highlights is the pass and move very quickly. Powell has beefed up a lot and is stronger. What I like is the front 6 can all score goals in abundance.
Holland and Kemp may be a bit frail to look at but both ride tackles like Sterling and the Silva's at City.
At times the back 4 have been on average about 18,that's young even at this level. that says a lot about the squad and the team.

Re: Pellegrini and his lack of trust in our youngsters.
The question is always about just how good are the best youngsters. Coventry, Johnson and Powell get mentioned a lot but I and most others don't watch regularly. Is the reason they are doing so well this season the fact they dropped a division or is there not much difference? Is it because last season there was so much chopping and changing game by game.

Coventry, Powell are they quick and strong or like many we have... technically sound but one paced and a bit lightweight. What we are missing in the first team is intensity, pace, strength and stamina. Looking at the last 8 games , they could well do a job or would they get on and be anonymous like Cullen was in the few starts and games he has? I suppose one point of view is that you never know until you try them?
